In 1991, WestPac Pacific Foods (now Super Store Industries Dry Grocery and Frozen Food Division) was opened in Lathrop to capitalize on the combined purchasing power of three* privately owned Central California grocery retail chains. A frozen warehouse was added in 1994.
The basic philosophy that encompasses both partners is to purchase or produce products at the lowest cost possible without sacrificing quality. By doing so, they can in turn pass these savings on to their customers, and still maintain a competitive edge in the market place.
The Lathrop location is home to the Dry Grocery Division, Frozen Food Division, and the Marketing and Merchandising Division. More than 400 employees work at these divisions supporting: Purchasing, Sales, Accounting, Information Systems and Distribution.
